Barcelona/Pamplona

Day two in the city and we decided to try the open top tourist bus, though it was a little pricey, it was well worth it. We got given the bus tour of the city plus english commentary which made the places we saw much more relevant!
We passed the stadiums and significant sites of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and remnants of the other events and people that Barcelona prides itself on. From Picasso to the Barcelona Football club, the city has an interesting history.
One amazing site is that of Gaudi’s famous cathedral, Sangrada Familia, this place has been under construction since the 19th century and they are still far from finished. However what has been finished is absolutely spectacular, the detail is almost unbelievable, it’s scale is incredible and it is positioned among ordinary buildings, it really is stunning.

Our last day was spent on the beach relaxing and soaking up our last quiet day before we head to Pamplona for the running of the bulls!

We have arrived in Pamplona, after a spectacular drive! The countryside we drove through was definitely not what we were expecting to see in Spain. There were snow capped mountains and bright blue lakes and streams, with green farmland and small little towns perched on hilltops.
The camp ground in Pamplona is swarming with Australians, you more of the Australian accent than the Spanish.  I don’t think this place will be as quiet or comfortable as the last, but it will be fun! Apparently there are around 2000 people here at the camp ground all preparing to celebrate the running of the bulls!
