Colorado Springs

Graduation day!
We spent the morning at the mall and made Makensie a build-a-bear for her graduation present.

The graduation was huge! Held at the air force academy basketball stadium, which is similar to the super cats arena, but wayyy bigger! 400 students were in the graduating class!
It was interesting comparing it to our graduation.
Students who had achieved academic awards, like the national honors society or grade point averages of 3.875 for every semester of high school, wore different chords around their necks. Students with military parents who are currently deployed  wore red, white and blue cords.
The entire stadium stood with hands on their heart for the national anthem, and anyone currently serving in the military and veterans were asked to stand and received a huge round of applause.
It was awesome to see the national pride everyone and the support and recognition given to people who serve their country.

Graduates wore caps and gowns, and at the end all tossed their caps into the air.

Over all graduation is a huge deal. People fly in from all over the country to be here, and there are parties happening all week and weekend!

Once we connect my camera we will add some photos of Makensie in her cap and gown and the stadium full :)
